The Kalos League redeemed him from me, and the Koko fight was the icing on the cake. A happy ending for all the bullshit that happened 4 years ago with the frog, 7 years ago with the Lucario, 11 years ago with the Latios, and 15 years ago with the fucking Meowth in boots.
I wasn't as happy for Ash winning as I was for fucking Pikachu finally proving everyone how strong he is at this point, he can even beat (and not only tie) against legendaries.
Even on the new series he landed a Thunderbolt on Lugia and took an Aeroblast to the face who sent him out flying in the air only for him to shrug it off like it was nothing.
