As for lucario, I've always been a fan of egyptian mythology, so an anubis-inspired pokemon that looks speedy and uses melee attacks and close combat? perfection.
what's important here is that even though they're shillmons, they're still good and remembered because they were designed well. pokemon like facebook pikachu and literally my mom's dog aren't designed well. just a bunch of cartoon animals with exaggerated cartoon features to increase their neoteny and their neoteny only, and literally 18 polygons in their entire designscheme.
