Think about this: do you really want to give them your hard-earned Pokédex when you know they will never again let you bring most of your Pokémon to any installment of the series? You are basically making your favorite Pokémon hostages that GameFreak will use to extort you of 6-17 dollars every year from now on.

This is completely irrational on your behalf. Keep your Pokémon in Alola or Pokémon Go, don't take part in this. You are purposefully destroying the franchise and empowering GameFreak to extort you. Also beware that their cloud services are beyond flawed and there is a severe chance you lose your entire collection.

Please THINK before you take part in this. You are giving them hostages. Pokémon Home will be nothing but a prison for 500+ Pokémon.
