It's useless for competitive, but being able to just change your type on demand is pretty good for single player where you're only going to be raising a few mons.

In theory it coulda been kinda cool with dynamax, like you use a fire move then it changes form too. Its stats are too low though. It needs a pretty big revamp to really work, something similar to imposter.

If you need to go through extra steps instead of just mashing the A button in story mode you're either doing a convoluted challenge or doing something very wrong

motherfucker even in gen 1 you could get to the elite four by mashing A with your starter, then you dump all your items to beat the league. i did that shit when i was 6
