This thread is for common misconceptions about the Pokemon series. Hopefully we will all learn something here.
I'll start;
>Pokemon that you own will disobey you if you overlevel them
Contrary to what gym leaders say, Pokemon that you caught yourself and have your Trainer ID will never disobey you no matter how high you level them, and you don't need badges to make them listen. This only applies to Pokemon you have received via trade. You can grind your starter from Level 5 to 100 on the first route before even getting your first badge and it will always obey.
