And just for argument's sake, I don't think "ball switching" would be a 100% process. They could even just make the switched ball a "skin", so the send-out effects are kept from the original ball while the design looks like the switched ball (the same way hyper trained stats say "hyper trained" instead of best and nature mints don't change the actual nature).
Point being, they really REALLY don't care about the subsect of players that spent their time searching for the optimal ball combos. The same way they didn't care about the subsect of players that spent hours breeding for 6IV/optimal nature pokemon.
