Or just go for the Knock Off and Mach Punch turn 2 if I predict a switch in at t1. I know it's very uncommon in singles, but you could also run Protect on Conk to get a free burn, followed by a guaranteed OHKO on Mach Punch. Now if it's banded, yeah it has a fair chance to OHKO, but then it also has a fair chance to be outsped and killed itself by something else. This is where I believe dimension comes into the gameplay and forces you to think, which I find a welcome idea. Now this example is a tad cherry picked, but I don't think it misrepresents the point I'm making here.
>Needing to run the same item on every mon just to avoid getting fucked is overcentralizingThis also blows my mind, because I'm so used to Item Claus in the format and the thought of running dupe items is foreign to me. Still, I don't at all suggest running a team of Shed Shellers. Your format is 6v6, right? Surely you can fit one SS holder or a ghost on your team to take out Wobbufetts and Gothitelles if you so wanted to. Hell Dragapult has a 40% usage rate in OU right now, about half of everyone already runs a ghost as is.
>>42744956>Shed Shell only works once>trappers don't necessarily need to care about ghosts/shadow taggersHow many times do you need to switch out to kill the STer? Maybe I'm downplaying switch ins in singles, and they could just switch Wobuffett out of sticky situation. But here's my question, is Shadow Tag what is broken, is it it the sum of Wobuffett's kit? What does Gothitelle or Eviolite Gothorita have hat make it so hard to play against? Yes, ages ago Gengar and Mega Gengar ran them, but surley Smogon stays current with bans from gen to gen?
Also, I completely glossed over that Uturn, Volt Switch, and Eject Button/Red Card also exist as well. Surely at least Volt Switch or Uturn aren't too inconvenient to run on 1 guy.
