>>42745509In my honest opinion, I truly think GF should have waited an extra year before their release. To me they're very incomplete games, barebones and lacking in content. I'm genuinely surprised they even released them at all in such a state, I sometimes can't believe it's a game that actually exists.
I won't ignore all the amazing QOL improvements, and those are exactly why I think that with more time they could've released a truly polished game with good amount of content that everyone, even those who nowadays are disgruntled, could've loved. The base game and idea per se aren't bad, they just needed more time and with it they could've also fleshed out the story more, also all these interesting characters they added that unfortunately got sidelined as well.
>inb4 anime and merchMerch can exist even without the actual product (games) having released. Many cartoons and other games start selling merch before the actual product goes live, it's also a way to amp up the hype and spread the word. As for the anime, had it been set 100% in Galar I'd understand, but this new format they chose shows that a delay wouldn't have been an issue.
So that's my take, barebones games that actually did a lot right in terms of improvements here and there, but the base maingame is lacking and could've been much better if they had only delayed it one year.
