Worst is, they are actually repetating a mistake they did in the past with gts... whY on earth they let people look for a legendary pokemon which is blocked, so they end up having all people asking for stupid changes. I looked for a normal pokemon "shuppet". 37 stupid changes for zamazentas, deoxys, celebis (which you can even change in case you are idiot) and only 3 "normal" for a florges, a chikorita, or a banette....

Because by requiring a smartphone they cut the total reach of the GTS in half. I need kids with a switch to give me Pokémon. Those kids don’t have fucking phones.

If its one from a previous game, it may have a move it can't learn any more.
I think stuff like Fateful Encouner or Cherish Balls/Ribbons could do it too.

That one is pretty baffling, I wish they'd allow stuff like Mew/Meltan. I don't know why there's even restrictions besides stuff like Fateful Encounter mons.

That one ribbon that comes with every eventmon is what the gts looks at for being able to be traded or not. I don't know if the tyranitar was ever from an event or gift or whatever but I confirmed a long time ago in gen 5 that the ribbon is what gets checked.

I definitely think its the Cherish Ribbon/Souvenir Ribbon, but I also have a 10th Anniversary Bulbasaur that doesn't have any ribbons and can't be traded. It doesn't have Fateful Encounter either, so I wonder if maybe there's also something with the IDs?

It's not from an event, I bred it in Y version. Here is screenshot from Switch version of Home. It lets me select it for a trade on the gts, then says I can't trade it (no reason given).

When you start making it a paid service and don't improve it at all, it becomes a problem. The GTS has always been fine when you submit a mon for a reasonable trade, but they still haven't fixed the biggest problem of letting people ask for mythicals without actually letting mythicals be traded.

Yep. And if you ask for a REASONABLE trade you get ignored for weeks until you give up.

By reasonable I mean like "Absol for Wobuffet". Some catchable non-event mons that might be a pain but I wanted for dex reasons.

GTS is useless. Wondertrade is better. Just going on /VP is sadly best.

That was a failed trade from XY. I was offering an Absol for a wobuffet as I was bored with wandering Reflection cave and thought someone had to have snagged one. I wasn't picky on level, either.

I had to go to a trade thread to get a Wobuffet in the end. People were baffled the GTS failed me.

It's not the only fail: I have had it happen many times. Just that ones sticks out in my mind. I have had the same issue in every game with GTS that I have tried to use GTS in.

What do you think I can trade to get Zacian? In Gen 7 I had no problem trading legendary pokemon, even ones that were one per cartridge, but now nobody’s taking the bait.

The GTS was fine when it was free, but now that you need to pay to get any real use with it, the cracks are all the more glaring. All they need to do for me is just allow us to trade mythicals, and I wouldn't give a shit about the rest, but they can't even be bothered to do that much

What gts shows now is limited, meaning you need filters for both searching a good trade or being able to make a trade on your own, since there's the possibility that your trade could not be shown at all

I cloned a bunch of Zacians and Zamazentas so if I see a mon I like I can just snatch it. Correct me if I'm wrong but I could've sworn at one point either gen 6 or 7 there were some pokemon that if you asked for it, you got filtered so no one would see your request on the GTS.
