>>42762603They both can. Mantis shrimps do it by friction. They move their claws so fast that it makes the water boil by cavitation, and the strongest strikes creates sonoluminescence. The smash has an acceleration of ~10 000 g (This is not a typo, ten fucking thousands). And even if the hit misses the prey, it'll get knocked out by the shockwave it produced. Pretty much like the pistol shrimp, but with a shorter range.
