Gigantamax is more interesting because it provides options in the actual battle instead of something you commit to before it even starts.

Dynamax is a combination of the worst aspects of Z moves and Megas. There is NO reason to use Dynamax on a weaker pokemon, when your stronger Pokemon can just become even stronger and even boost their stats for 3 turns. With Megas there were at least some weaker Pokemon that got actually used for it, like mawile and beedrill

There are actually some reasons to not mega right away (or at all), like Sableye, Glalie and Slowbro

Timing is honestly the ONLY thing Gigantamax has over Megas, but thats only because it would be even more broken than it is now if it wasnt "only" 3 turns
