aside from the no difficulty, the problem with the game is that it's written as aimless wandering a la KAAAAAAANTOOOOOOOO but you can't wander anywhere because the gates block you from going anywhere but the next cutscene
team flare doesn't establish themselves as anything but yet another team. most people who've played it can't even remember the names of the flare admins. their schemes are generic bullshit often ripped off from an older game. they have no characters and no significant effect on the world other than blocking your path. even the box legendaries are complete non-entities until way at the end of the game
and without getting into the purposeless MC and his fucking terrible rival squad

Because they made the games have less of an identity and soul than they already have. Like having the KANTOOO starters overshadow the ones actually introduced in Kalos, or straight up lifting elements from KANTOOOO

Eh, the story was bad but honestly who plays pokemon for the fucking story. I do wish the games were more free though. It's been a while since i played them but i remember they didn't interrupt you as much as in gen 5 or 7 though.

If you actually played the games you'd know that XY have one of the least amount of 'cutscenes'. Most cutscenes are Gen 7 followed by Gen 5.

you run into the stupid kids at least once every route and town, often more
the cutscenes are short but they still fuck the game up by forcing you towards them instead of letting you explore
my point is that the game gives you no motivation to play it. you just go through the cookie cutter story because you have to, not because you're given reason to.
if they don't care about the story they should let me skip cutscenes

Getting rid of exp share would make the games more grindy not more difficult. Why would anyone want it gone? The problem is that the other trainers and gyms aren’t properly leveled and should have scaled.
