Now I know what you're thinking, why would this be of any use for a physical attacker, especially one that gets Brave Bird, and I'm not trying to imply that it will suddenly start replacing the physical sets but let's just take a look at the facts here.
Talonflame ONLY has 81 attack and 74 special attack. The difference between both of them is, quite frankly, negligable. Hurricane has 10 lower power than Brave Bird too AND it suffers from accuracy issues, so there's a lot of downsides.
The upside however is one that should be obvious. You can fire off powerful hurricanes WITH priority, and you can keep doing so too, unlike with Brave Bird since you only get 1 priority attack with it.
LET'S NOT FORGET TOO THAT THIS GEN INTRODUCED HEAVY DUTY BOOTS. So keeping your talonflame maxed out on HP is easier than its ever been.
