>>42774691Its just basic logic from a storytelling perspective. Kiawe rarely battled and was never shown to be better than Ash in any way while Lana wasn't even Ash's rival. It makes sense for Gladion, Ash's real rival that managed to beat him prior to the League, or Guzma, the guy shown to be very strong and challenges Ash's philosophy as a trainer, would be the final battle.
I could at least understand why someone would think Kiawe was a possibility (though he never was), but anyone that thought Lana had a shot at being Ash's final challenge for the League is legit retarded
