I've lately been worrying that I may come to a point where I'll burn bridges with my friends and go back to having none. I love spending time with all of my current friends, but I know from experience that when I disagree with something, I let that become a grudge, and I hurt people until I realise that I lost the few friends I got. I just want to become a better person really. it's actually also my birthday today, here in Australia at least, so I actually feel pretty good about myself today. Saved up for a new PC and am ready to get it built

Compared to everyone else I'm okay I think but I'm feeling kind of apathetic recently, I have no friends, no life, no job, my personality and appearance are either boring or just awful
I abandoned a group of online friends(?), I doubt they really considered me to be a friend, it's likely they just said that not to hurt some guy, as they never tried to initiate a conversation with me, though I did, I know it's not their job to talk to me but I thought this friendship thing was different

Struggling to find a new job and one that pays even remotely well, have a bit of a record so its been hard. The girl I love has basically dipped out of my life over the last year as well on top of it, and everything is kind of shit when at one point it was all going so smoothly and wonderfully. At this point I've just lost hope, motivation, care, etc. I haven't been this way for many years and I hate it, also I'm finally starting to show signs of aging, my body hurts constantly and I'm losing my precious hair. Such is life though, its not always fair and a lot of it is my own fault I suppose. Oh well I'll get back to where I need to be one day.

As someone who thought they struggled with this in the past, do you gravitate towards those things out of a sense of loneliness and wanting to connect with the opposite gender at all costs or in a way to connect with trans people because you feel someone of the proper gender won't or haven't loved you at this point, or is it that legit don't like your penis/vagina and want to have a doctor stab it with a scalpel?

If its the former, then you're just gonna have to avoid those things and distract yourself because its gonna lead you down a messed up past and its gonna be really confusing for awhile especially if you actually try to transition.

I'm honestly not sure at this point. I only realized that this was even a possibility for myself about a month ago, and now I'm just trying to figure out if I'm just 'faking' it or something. I'm definitely not gonna act on anything permanent too soon, but I am considering seeing a therapist very soon so I can have a professional to discuss it with.

It just makes me so fcking mad with myself!! Why did I change??!! Why did I think I should've cared about what others though of me???

Over the past few years I've grown increasingly dissatisfied and disgusted toward everything. Back when I was still in school and had people to talk to I could just turn off my brain and enjoy talking to them, though I could never form any relationships more than just "talking to them in school and maybe playing video games with them" I used to be pretty postive, I like to believe. Pretty nice to most people that approached me and open minded.
After I got out of school and all of the people I cared about dropped out of my life for one reason or another, I'm all alone and have been left to reflect on both myself and the world. I've always wanted to figure out what could be considered an optimal solution to the world's issues because shitty things and shitty people disgust me and I wish I could do anything about it. But naturally anything with permanence is almost impossible and anything I could have done is too far gone because I wasted all of my potential on wallowing in self pity and anxiety.
Now I'm stuck grinding a (barely over) minimum wage job serving people that act like genuine honest-to-god sheep that can't do anything even when literally told how to do so. And now I've gone from being lonely and having a desire to make friends to being sick of people and wanting to never have to talk to anyone again. I feel like I'm losing any empathy I used to have and among the other things running through my mind it troubles me.
also i cant sleep well its pretty annoying ngl

Essentially lost my job after a few fuck ups as a pharmacy technician. It was a good job and I was proud of it. They cut my hours to about 5 a week, said they might put me back up when feel more comfortable with my performance, but they also said "sorry, you're a nice guy, anon...." which was pretty much "we tried to train you but you suck". I was there for a year and I didn't want to lose the job. I'm just so disappointed in myself.

therapy has never worked on me because my brain has a weird defense mechanism that pretty much locks any of my actual thoughts out and causes me to give nonanswers to every personal question asked by someone I don't know or trust. thus every therapist has gone to has said i was fine when even i know im not. i have no idea why it happens and i definitely wish i could control it.
im pretty sure i cant get pills easily either.

I appreciate the advice but I'm not particularly good at anything really. I'm good at doodling and drawing what I see, but not anything actually good that isn't just basically a carbon copy. I'd love to actually make a patreon and make art and little comics for the world and whoever wants to actually pay for it, but I lack motivation to sit here for hours and properly learn anatomy and everything and even then that takes years of work and I'm already almost 30.

As much as I don't want to force myself to work, you need money to survive, pay bills, etc. and I know I'd be happier anywhere than I am right now. Plus I have 2 dogs, they need food and vet expenses, my children deserve a nice back yard.

Valentines Day got me thinking a lot about the fact that I'm a 28 year old virgin. It doesn't really bother me THAT much, but I just feel embarrassed and ashamed of it at this point and that makes me wonder if I'm just letting society make me guilty about not following social norms. Like I want a relationship not for companionship, but as a social medal. I mean, I'm pretty happy overall. I have a comfortable home and job and lots of friends and I feel really lucky for all that. I'm really comfortable with my life and I know that a relationship would mean sacrificing a lot of my time and adding a bunch of stress to my life and a girlfriend isn't magically going to just make me happier. But at the same time I can't help but feel I'm really missing out on a big part of life and maybe I'm mistaking my indifference towards a relationship with being numb to my desire for companionship.

I’ve been working at a warehouse making decent money for my age the past year and a half, but I’m rapidly approaching my 20th birthday and I feel the need to go to college so I can start my path on an actual career. The thing is, I have no idea what I wanna do and i pretty much haven’t figured anything out the past 2 years since I graduated highschool. I’m just directionless right now and it fucking sucks because I really do not want to keep working here even though the pay is good. I don’t know what to do, and the Fall semester starts in August which doesn’t give me much more time. It’s either now or never I feel like. I also don’t know if I should keep the job and go to school at the same time because I’m not sure if I will be able to balance a full time job with full time school work, plus having those two things will leave me with basically no time to socialize and go out with people I may meet, which is a driving factor because I haven’t met anyone new the past 2 years.

I wish anon, I have people who believe in me, but it doesn't help the lack of motivation at all. I'm just easily frustrated when something doesn't come out the way I want it, especially when it takes 5-8 hours of continuous work. Now if people wanted to pay for me recreating art in my scratchy kind of manga style, then sure, but otherwise, I don't think they would.

It is what it is, I'll work on it best I can going forward regardless even if it takes 10 years, while I continue to hopefully find a normal job to support myself in the meant time.

Anon you can take this a couple ways.

You can bring it up to him and talk about how his business is affecting you mentally and putting a strain on your relationship. Not sure why he is busy, but some of it is understandable, some is questionable.

You can assume that his business does means he's cheating on you, go on a wild rant, and break up with him.

Or you can take it upon yourself that in the end you're both stagnating and as you said, "grow a backbone".

These are your options, you're gonna have to choose one eventually or else its just gonna continue until you're both rotting in the ground wishing you had done something sooner.

I know that Charizard gets a lot of hate by the Pokémon community these days, but I'm a Kantofag and can't help it

I'm stressing over a couple of things. The first is the things that I enjoy. I mostly enjoy things meant for children yet I realize as I'm getting older that its becoming more and more of a problem and that I need to find other things that interest me. I have found some things like golf, but children's entertainment just speaks to me more than most things meant for people in their 20s. I'm also concerned about my social life. I don't have any real friends, and I have decided that I don't particularly care about having close friends, but I still want a partner. I think of myself as reasonably attractive (like a 6-7) and have had mild success on Tinder, but a girl I've been speaking to recently that I've really been in to has started to reply to my messages less and less frequently and has yet to reply to me asking for her number after we both agreed to get coffee soon. It hasn't even been a full day since I've asked, but the lack of a reply is still eating me up inside, and I'm worried she won't be interested after she finds out I don't have friends. The final thing is my future. Its my last semester of college, and I have no idea what I'm going to do after it ends. I'm lucky to have relatively well off parents that will support me after I'm done, but I don't want to mooch off them forever, and I'm worried that my lack of ambition will affect my ability to find a partner.

I can't help you with most of what you're dealing with as I have similar problems, but the one thing I will say is that no one is going to pretend you're good at something at a job. If someone above you says that you are doing well at your job, then they mean it because they would fire your ass otherwise

Damn bro that sucks and makes my issues look like child's play. The only thing I can really say is hang in there. The coronavirus has infected a shit ton more people than it has killed, so it isn't a death sentence, and there is a chance that your dad will recover. My philosophy has become expect the worst but hope for the best. If I was in your situation (this may come off as a little harsh by I'm trying to just be honest), I would expect and prepare your expectations for the worst, but also acknowledge that the situation isn't hopeless and hope that everything turns out all right. I might have had something similar a couple years ago. Don't know how similar it is to your issue, but I'd often have feelings of uncomfortable bloating and a queasy stomach. I'd get a lot of abdominal cramping pains and I'd often feel discomfort after shitting. A sort of pain in the anus and a feeling as if I was blocked up inside even though I had just shit out everything inside me. Sometimes I'd shit three or four times in a single day, until it was just mucus, sometimes with a fleshy pink tone. Mucus tended to be present in general.

Anyway, it could be an imbalance in your digestive ecosystem. You should eat yogurt and take some probiotics to try and help restore the bacterial ecosystem in your body and see if it helps. Might also be a good idea to start keeping a meal and poop diary because it may be useful information if you go to a doctor down the line. In my case I believe it was triggered by the fact that they gave me a refill of an antibiotic I was on for an unrelated issue while I waited nearly an extra month for another appointment for a specialist. It probably killed way too much bacteria in my digestive tract. Went to the doctor a few times which was mostly inconclusive, then I shat out a bunch of blood and had a colonoscopy which just found some minor hemorrhoids. About a year and a half after my symptoms first started I finally started feeling normal again.
