I had a purple Game Boy Color (my dad actually got it for himself to play Super Mario Bros. Deluxe but he gave it to me after I started playing it a lot more than he did cause of Pokemon) and it must have broken at some point because I got one of the special ones with Pikachu and Jigglypuff on it and that was my Game Boy after that, shit was awesome. I was fucking OBSESSED with Pokemon. I bought Blue and Silver literally only to complete my collection. I distinctly remember going to Funkoland with my dad and getting Blue for no reason at all other than because I needed all 3. One time I lost my copy of Hey You Pikachu and I was so upset my dad went and bought me a second copy, later found the first one. I feel really bad because that game is garbage and it was like $40 at that time at least for a used copy.
I eventually accumulated every single Pokemon game for the Game Boy Color and I had my Pokemon themed game Boy of course so I had it made. Then I forgot my game case with all my shit in it on a bus. And it was all gone in an instant. Of all the moments in my life that are the worst that's probably top three, it would be behind my dad throwing away all my VHS tapes and that time I got thrown in jail but still up there as one of the worst. The only Pokemon game I had was Trading Card Game for Game Boy Color because it wasn't in the case at the time, and all of the rest was gone. I remember I had recently got Crystal and had barely been able to play it before it was gone. Fuck dude still makes me upset.
