i don't understand. why bother updating only *some* of them? it's just poor craftsmanship. GF would look a lot better if they just didn't even bother in the first place. no one would've known. XY-era sprites were already fine, they literally just made more work and attracted even more criticism to themselves
i swear it feels like they just come up with revisions and implement them with absolutely no input from or communication with the creative team. imagine finishing about one hundred updated kanto mon menu sprites just to get an email from masuda saying "haha fakku dat. just use the old ones for the rest, making gemu difficult"
