Because those games are actually taken seriously while Pokemon is "just for kids". Sword and Shield aren't good but they aren't irredeemably bad either, just extremely underwhelming (like we've been getting the past few gens). The formula still works so people will still have fun with it. If they fuck with the formula THEN they'll actually get substantive backlash, maybe.

I think the main difference is that Pokemon is still fundamentally the same series in terms of gameplay and design, whereas Battlefront and Color Splash actively shit upon all the people that liked the older games, alongside just being extremely mediocre games.
