People on this board are only capable of liking competitively viable Pokemon, so unfortunately Frosmoth went from most anticipated pre-release to completely forgotten. It's still a based design, though.

i dont think its fair to say they are animal+element because that implies its just a lazy "slap ice on a moth" when they based them on the way real moths look and have flakes that look like snow

Well yeah, I didn't mean it as a knock on the basic concept. Plenty of "element+animal" designs have a lot of thought put into them. Just saying it's one of the Pokemon concepts with the most mass appeal (as evidenced by the fact that fans are somehow yet to grow sick of the starter trios).
