>>42803922It's just a different kind of Pokemon game that puts more focus on catching than battling. Kind of ironic that /vp/, a board seemingly obsessed with the Pokedex and catching them all, so thoroughly rejected a change to the Pokemon formula that ended up elevating catching Pokemon over battling. If anything I appreciate the alternate canon they've established, with Red, Blue, and Green having already completed their "journey" without the aid of a Pokedex. It's also implied that they traded a couple of Pokemon between them, which is why Red doesn't have all three starters like usual. It also provides a pretty ingenious fix to HMs, arguably better than how SwSh handles them.
tl;dr it's a fun babymode version of Kanto. Don't buy it if you don't like motion controls, Kanto, or the idea of 99% of wild encounters being removed.
