They're villains who seem to have a better grasp of history than most people in the region but we're never actually sure what that history is or how much they're actually entitled to being princes of the region. We know there were 2 heroes who worked with the wolves, but it's also implied it was just 1 hero using both or it's just the 2 wolves. The lore is a cluster fuck where we don't know what the truth is and these whackos for some reason like fucking with people and think making loads of kaiju rampage will lead to some unexplained goal justifying their status climbing.
