>>42808203This season is a filler while they deal with how the SwSh season will be done, then once he wants a rematch with Leon he'll be endorsed by Leon or someone for the Galar League, then he starts all over again with one of the starters.
So for now Ash will catch old mons, then will decide "I'm just taking Pikachu to Galar" like he has done since Hoenn, unless a mon has something new that's been added, like Gengar is actually a G-Max user or Dragonite follows Ash or something like that.
It would be nice if Galar broke the tradition of "Ash can't use his old mons but Pikachu" then Ash can rotate his team and train up his older, non-fully evolved mons to get stronger, this should have been started in the "Pokemon 2019"anime along with the catching of other Pokemon.
