>>42813176I'll be honest anon. I'm a sinnohfetus. This generation introduced me to pokemon and it holds a very special place in my heart for that. And I do think these games are great. However, there are problems with even the Platinum version that I have to admit hampered the game experience a little.
> It's SLOW, and not just in combat/savingNearly the entire game can be a pain to get through at times. Some things take waaaaay longer to execute than they should, from specific things like the Pokemon Center animation to as general as the in-game text taking too long. I know that's a silly argument but I'm serious; I did a side by side comparison of Platinum and HG and maybe I'm going loopy, but the latter has way faster ingame dialogue and animations for most things which makes it an overall faster game, and for the better. Even barring that there are other smaller things that just eat up your time for no fucking reason, like snow in the northern section of the region that forces you to go slow, or my second point on this list:
> HMsGen 4 has by far the worst HM implementation in any Pokemon game, bar none. They felt the need to attach an HM to every goddamn badge which leads to a few redundant/useless HM moves. "Oh wow, now I can use cut, which is basically a functionally identical rock smash now seeing as its one unique out-of-battle use was removed starting in this generation!" "Oh, I got defog! Better use it in the single area of the game that actually needs its use!"
