I really like the concept but think the colors of the tail fossil are atrocious and completely ruins the two Pokemon where it’s used. Too saturated and that red and green clash horribly with each other.

They don't fit in Pokemon's aesthetic at all, and their lore is just dumb.

That's their second failure. Defenders tout them as being alien but really none of them are that alien either. You can easily tell what real world things each is based on. One is just a cockroach but a girl, and another is a mosquito body builder. These aren't lovecraftian horrors. They're just monsters from some other JRPG series slapped into Pokemon. Even their typings are mundane as fuck, only one even had a unique typing.

Also they're basically legendaries and there's a ton of them.

The UBs were fucking based though, Sword and Shield just have a really mediocre roster of new Pokémon that often feel like first drafts more than they do finished, well thought out designs. It’s a shame too because a lot of the ideas are cool in theory but just weren’t executed well.
