>>42823631You have to take into account that this also includes real life tickets to GO Fest and the safari events (and that Regigigas event that we'll never speak of again). It's weird, but there's people in my raid group who spend hundreds per month on Pokemon Go. One couple told me that they spent $500/mo between them. They're retired boomers who have all the time in the world to play this. It may be more now since they got the mother in law playing.
A lot of PoGo players use the Google survey rewards to buy coins for the monthly boxes, so that's also a factor.
What I'm getting at w/this example is that the game is very embedded due to the fact it appealed to normies, so it's easy to think its dead. It's not. It's been well integrated and contained. It's like how I'm surprised fucking Candy Crush is still going.
>>42823859I hope they'll tone down the gacha mechanics, or at least add some transparency or lower the odds on trash during hatching events. Otherwise, 2019's number is going to be a hell of a lot lower in 2020. Or not. A good chunk of PoGo players are insanely addicted they'll probably keep seeing how far they can push it before they see a significant loss.
