It's great as it saves time, but not having to actually train it makes you develop no emotional bond to the pokemon, I have two boxes full of good pokemon with perfect natures and good movesets, yet I could not give a crap about them and just keep on hoarding more usable pokemon, yet I feel like I don't need to have any specific one in my party and can just toss them around blindly. Over half of these pokemon I don't even know how they are in camp or how they act in animation as I have yet to use them, just waiting for when I need that specific pokemon over the other of the same type for whatever reason

I don't like it, I never felt like this in the past games. It's the same modern trend that seems to plague all video games where no choices or decisions matter at all, and you can change anything on the fly and at the drop of the hat, making any decision you make require no thought at all.

Just empty husks of pokemon that are all interchangeable and don't matter to you at all and don't require much effort on your part instead of actual partners
