>>42823286It felt like an expansion to the growing Pokemon world we knew. The rustic city and town style were really aesthetic. Ecruteak is one of my all-time favorite cities. Roaming Pokemon were so much fun to go after, I remember catching Raikou in an Ultra Ball on my first encounter with it two runs in a row. I liked that we got a real reflection of well-known wildlife with an elephant, a giraffe, and a tiger. The fight against the former protagonist self-insert was one of the upper echelon highlights of the whole series.
