Overall pretty good but he should branch out more. Some of the more obscure mons he catches like Muk, Donphan and Glalie have ended up becoming some of my favorites due to the good spotlight Ash brought them.

Hoenn probably the best for the anime making me take shines to Pokemon since it had to compensate for Ash not getting all the starters. Glalie, Corphish and Torkoal were all more unconventional but were made likable.
