Suppose that the Pokémon Types were turned into human superpowers. (Electric lets you shoot lightning and run fast, Flying flies and controls air, Ghost gives you shadow powers, Bug, uh…get creative?)

How would this translate, and what Type would you want to be and why?

Light can heal, Light can injure, Light can help. So I want to be a fairy type.
Bugs can control light, but not to the same extent as fairies

Dark not being darkness is a whole debate I don't feel like getting into yet again right this moment, but I suppose I'll accept that.

Honestly though Electric or even Psychic have more ties to physical light manipulation.

Honestly yeah what superpower would Dark even grant you? Ghost gets shadows and darkness, and "Dark" moreso is about how they act in battle. What power would it give you?

Probably fighting or psychic, as both powers would be subtle and could be disguised so I appear not to have powers. Maybe normal type too, although I have no clue what powers it would give you.

Actually yes, spiders are bugs. They just aren't insects. "Bug" isn't a scientific term, though there is a class of insects called true bugs. An earthworm can even be considered a bug depending on who you ask.

Basically "light" can't be quantified to a single type. Hell, Normal type has flash and morning sun and hyper beam.

Darkness is easier. Almost every darkness-based more is ghost type, except for two of them which are dark type. So ghost > dark > the rest.

Fairy is as much light as in "Sparkles!" plus it's common in myths and fairy tales for things to be noted to be shiny like creatures, weapons, and armors.
