Gastrodon was designed to be more reliable
Whenever Seismitoad starts getting used its because it managed to slide into some weird niche, when it can't do that its generally worse

There is pretty much no reason to use Seismitoad after Gastrodon got Toxic back.

Quagsire needs to be at full health to do so.
Meanwhile, Pyukumuku tanks it better, and can run Baton Pass to escape trapping abilities.

When I was still running teams on Showdown during the first two months, I very often fell back on Quagsire to stall out dynamax and other threats. Fought out a lot of stall wars against Corviknight. Quagsire is never to be underestimated.

I imagine they should be doing pretty well this generation. They are often immune to the highly threatening Fishious Rend and Bolt Beak, and Hidden Power has been purged, so no surprise HP Grass. Although certain Grass moves have been given wider distribution...

Power Whip Gyarados was a mistake. Pokemon shouldn't have ridiculous coverage options. That's why I liked it when HP was deleted.
