You shouldn't be able to Rest if you are already Paralyzed, Burned, Frozen or Poisoned.

Then run something that counters Rest if it bothers you that much. Taunt or Electric Terrain both do the job. There are also some more niche answers to it, like Uproar and Worry Seed.

sure, it's a powerful healing move, but it's only usable once. you can just poison them again and then switch out to a staller, if they rest again you get 2 free turns.

Not him, but it's nigh unusable on bug. Only a few select bugs have taunt, like skorupi, kricketune, golisopod and escavalier. That being said, bug usually runs hyper offensive or wallbreaker, so rest isn't an issue anyways.

The move is extremely high cost, making it get blocked by any status is even wrose. You literally lose two turns for Resting.

If you end up in a situation where you can't do anything in two free turns, you're fucked anyway.
