Theoretically what would cause everyone, and I mean everyone to loathe Gamefreak and the Pokémon series and stop buying their games/merch?
Something that would be so bad it would make TPCi go bankrupt. Clearly SWSH wasn't it.

Chairman Rose and Guzma seemed to be very close to taking that path. Eternatus is the true antagonist overarching Rose and once you catch him, you can befriend him, so there's that.

Last year I would have said cutting Pokemon and adding them as catchable encounters in DLC later on. But people seem fine with that so the following will make them quit maybe.
