So for reasons I was looking into the gen 6 Eon Ticket stuff, I read somewhere that you could get the ticket from passersby via the PSS, but is it true?

You had to get it from Spot/Street Pass first, then you could claim it from the news tab in the PSS.

Back then you could get it by simply spoofing the MAC address of an official Spot Pass access point with a rooted phone. Your 3DS would pick up the Bluetooth signal and connect you to people around the actual access point since they had the same MAC address.

I'm not sure if it works anymore though. You might as well use PKHeX.
