This. You should just have trainer password that you begin the game with. If a Pokémon is traded into a game with the same password then it considers you its OT.

Totems are different models, meaning more work, meaning GF purposefully deleted them to avoid porting the models over every game

Future event, look at how they suddenly gave out Pokéball Magearna. Also GameFreak is a wild card at this point, they created a brand new box sprite for spiky pichu in SM despite it being gone for 3 gens. They just want your money, they do not care about your feelings.

It takes all of ten seconds to increase the size of a 3d model, and a studio putting out games that sell 16 gorillion copies should be able to do it during runtime on the base model rather than retardedly saving two 3D models that are identical aside from size
