Funnily enough, I don't give a shit for the genre.. It's why I don't care about SMT/MH/whatever bullshit /vp/ tries to champion as an "alternative" to pokémon, because at the end of the day - none of them are pokémon.
If that's your bag though, enjoy but don't expect it to gain relevance.

Sounds like a childhood attachment thing, but I understand completely. Pokemon has some really solid things going for it. I just am a fan of monsters, so I play MH too. Though it definitely isn't an alternative, not even close. TemTem is the closest thing I can think of, and it's trash

Glad to see it got its funding and then some, but I'm holding out to see if the final product is worth that Half-A-Million budget. So far the designs are leagues above Temtem's which already makes me considerably more interested. Eh you know, fingers crossed, hope it ends up being worth it in the end.

I really like the designs but the game itself looks kinda awkward and clunky. The permadeath and open world aspect is kinda neat but nothing else about the world or gameplay really does anything for me. Even ignoring the lack of polish, (which is a given for a kickstarter game) the base battle system seems a little on the plain side.
I remember hearing that they're adding a turn-based option for battles, but that feels like a poor idea, since balancing one battle system to be good is already difficult, let alone a drastically different one.

I really, really like these designs. And the game itself seems to be it's own thing with permadeath and branching evolutions, instead of just a Pokemon clone like TemTem. Will definitely keep an eye on it!

None of the rewards appeal to me, so I just dropped in 1 dollar to stay updated on the progress. I will say though that I'm way more interested in this than Temtem in designs and conception. They even managed to do a breeding stand-in in a tasteful and not retarded way unlike Temtem.
