I don't need candies because I already got a lot by hunting for 0 speed and HA Gigantamax mons and it takes like 10 L candies to get a mon to level 50 (most mons don't even need to reach that level since thy learn all the moves they need and are set to level 50 anyway online).
No one needs selling items when luxury balls are a thing.
You bearely need PP Ups for moves with 5 PP because online battling is over before you run out of PP on any other move
Ability capsules are only used on shiny mons that got fucked ability and that don't need HA (Since you can easely get non shiny mons with whatever ability you want) and with 1200 BP every month you will never run out (getting master ball rank is easy, I'm a VGC player and know nothing about sigles and I still could make it)
TRs are not a good design because some of the most useful one are locked behind very few pokémon or getting lucky with the dudes that sell TRs. They only exist to force people to play raids and raids are not fun. They are either too easy and you can solo them or force you to go online and play the random faggot roulette, also in the case you have 3 organized people you know raids are instantly trivialized
