It is Silver exclusive and is not used by any trainer(IIRC)

so it's natural for most Gold players to not encounter one.

I used to think Poliwag was a baby evo introduced in gen 2. I remember how shilled Poliwhirl was in gen 1, I never realized it was a middle stage found out years later that Poliwag existed.

Another one is Blissey, I thought it was introduced in gen 4 along with Happiny. Somehow I never saw it in the games or anime.

Only complete fucking idiots or people that weren't around then ever thought this. I refuse to believe anyone that posts on an image board dedicated to Pokemon as a franchise did not collect Neo/E-series TCG cards, watch the Johto anime, play Pokemon Stadium 2 or have some sort of guide, magazine or book that listed every Pokemon; especially considering it was 2000/2001 and Pokemon merchandise was still everywhere.
