battle for bikini bottom might appeal to you but it's closer to 3d collectathon platformers. think banjo-kazooie, spyro, jak and daxter, etc. there's a few locations you roam around as the three playable characters and get new items and moves to unlock more areas to get more items
if you watch a gameplay video and it looks fun, get it. people aren't just hyped because lol spongebob. it's a genuinely good game as far as 3d collectathons go
