GF gets hung up on ideas a lot.
For Kanto, there were a lot of part psychic types, like Exeggutor, Starmie, Slowbro, Golduck (was probably one early on, even though he isn't psychic in the final release), and Jynx
For Hoenn, everything was part dark type, like Cacturne, Shiftry, Crawdaunt, Sharpedo, Sableye

Grass monkey just must have been on their minds while making this gen lol
