>>42910191I always like to interpret in-game stats as being relative to that species of Pokémon. So like, Flareon has a higher attack stat than Arcanine, but that's FOR ITS SIZE. So Flareon would (outside of the games) sill deal less damage than an Arcanine using the same moves, because Flareon is psychically smaller.
Like how whales have the largest absolute brains in the animal kingdom, but humans have the largest brains RELATIVE to their own body mass. Whales have the higher "brain stat", but they wouldn't actually outperform humans in intelligence.
