Alot of the protags are usually regular dudes forced into the apocalypse and only have a sword and gun to kill the myriad of demons, the exception to this are the 2 smt 4 games' protags who one, is in a similar boat as this dude, and the other is a dude who can just... Kinda learn it?
There's also a literal space marine that shoots everything to death and is unironically a regular dude outside of a spandex power suit.
It's pretty weird but in a fun way
