It has obviously and unofficially outsold both XY and SM at this stage (both Sword and Shield gained places in the overall top 40 game chart in UK last week, while being #1 in Japan for most o the 4 months since its release), but it hadn't outsold either with the initial figures reported (SM sold 16.18m).

You do realise Sword and Shield had the normies buying in as well as older fans and kids? They'll be playing DOOM Eternal when it releases, content in the knowledge the people they met over the AC/Doom release day hype will be happy with their choice of game, as they rip and tear through what looks to be the absolute best shooter in years? AC's not bothering any records set by Pokémon, especially when it's no-where near the size of Pokémon comparatively (shit, even Mario can't match Pokémon anon, normal Mario, platform original, needs a kart racer crossover to do that).

Then the sales of the doubble-pack woud have been higher. But it wasn't and the best bit, the dextards were using THAT as evidence the game wasn't selling. Most people bought both packs of a $40 game anon, because it's not that much a stretch over the price of a full game for "two" games.
Those same people were baulking at paying $120 for the pack, there's no vale in that to the casual.

Sure, I wasn't using it as an excuse for or to sell well, or to beat any other pokemon gale, but that did have an influence (probably around 1 or 2 millions copies) on the sales, so it's not just "one game with two versions" when compared to non-pokemon games.

But I did. I "pirated" it. Bought a copy, dumped the game from the card, broke the game card, re-sealed it with shrink wrap, and returned it for a full refund the next day. I have a unique game-card, meaning I can play online with no repercussions. I've done this for like 4 games now

Sonic 2006 also sold well but it stained the franchise forever. SwSh may not be on the same level of shit as S06 but the flaws in Pokemon main games are becoming harder and harder to cover up and disregard, especially with the passage to home consoles, and will have an effect in the long run.
