They're half of the problem. They're to blame for all the pokemon now looking retarded or using the anime versions starting with the Stadium games which people often reference as "Well they always were supposed to look like that" despite the very obvious anime inspired designs in the game. X and Y was their first mainline game they worked on, and guess what happened to the pokemon in that one. Don't you love how Purrloin stands up, that the Cynderquil line only displays flames while attack just like in the anime? Even Stantler used to look better. It used to have a cream puffy tail before it became ass cancer. However that change was made in gen 4 so I can't fully blame Creatures.

I'm pretty sure if any other developer worked on pokemon we would see way bigger cuts on the roster and movepoll, the game would look pretty nice tho. I can see a pokemon game made by monolith having around 100 pokemon, and each one of them with only 3 or 4 permanent attacks

The thing is that no one here is talking about a spin-off, people who bring other developers think that they will add all pokemon +200 new pokemon + a super detailed open world when a lot of interaction when in reality if any other developer made a mainline pokemon game you will see the exact same practices you see GF doing just for the scope of having to deal with 900+ individual creatures.

You are right, they could make an amazing spin off, but nobody cares about spin offs.

had the national dex been included no one outside of the /vp/ sphere would’ve cared. just as it has been since the series began its “decline” with X and Y. There would be no massive outcry or mass review bombing, no dislike spam or twitter shitflinging. and we know this because that’s how it was going up until E3. The only people who cared about a brick wall not quite matching it’s terrain was the average /vp/ doomer. After E3 the “N64 tree” was the talk of the town. You may personally believe that the issues lies somewhere else, but to the small faction that screamed their heads off from june to november, it was about the national dex.
