Volcanion has actual myths, you just don’t read dialogue

The bottom part of Kalos was created from Volcanion destroying a mountain range, and it’s worshipped as a result. This is stated in game.

Heatran also has lore in BW2. It comes to Reversal mountain annually to cool itself down (in Black 2 at least, idk if the reason in White 2 is different since it's more of a volcano)
I always assumed there's lots of Heatran in the world since it can be either gender, they all just live deep underground and are so rare that they're basically legendary

Well the original lore of Heatran is that it was born at the same time that Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina created Sinnoh, and that it was basically left over in the superheated core of the earth or smth. So basically it's only legendary because it's a byproduct of the creation trio's energy.

Hell never be forgotten because his dynamoblast move one shots most raid bosses. As for his lore, no idea. Big space dinosaur that probably belongs with the gen 4 space dinosaurs but his design language is 1:1 ultra beast style.

This happens with most of the legendary Pokémon, especially early trios.
Funnily enough, the whole legendary as a concept, about something with somewhat mystic and great power only started in Gen III onwards, when they started to make Pokémon that controls the forces of nature and then, space-time.
