>>42941799It works because the species name can refer to singular or plural members. Calling a random member “he” works grammatically in the singular sense, and wouldn’t be written the way your example was. Using “he” instead of “it” is probably technically not accurate but it doesn’t matter
unless you’re trying to fuck your Pokemon and the meaning is conveyed because everyone uses “he” for random individuals or understands that other people do it.
