>>42946632I knew Pokémon was a thing when it came to the states in late '98, saw ads for it in magazines and stuff and knew some people who played it, but I guess I thought it looked stupid then, for some reason, and didn't even bother watching it. Also I was pretty young and at the time didn't own a Gameboy.
Then by chance around summer '99 I saw the Pikachu vs. Raichu episode on TV, actually really fucking enjoyed it, and fell completely into the whole craze. Watched it all the time, got a Gameboy and Yellow a few months later, saw the movie and followed GS news and speculation in stuff like Beckett magazine and really early fansites etc.
Then I guess sometime after RS but before Emerald I just kinda stopped following it, then in the early 2010s I started getting nostalgic for it and got into it once more and started checking out /vp/, and since then I sorta cycle in and out of posting here and being aware of what's going on with Pokémon every few months or so. There are a ton of games I haven't played and more than anything I'm mostly knowledgeable of/into the first 2 gens, but I'm at least aware of other stuff in the series. It's something that's pretty easy to fall back into.
