The level curve is perfect for challenge but needing hms often can make the game harder due to needing either to save a spot on your team for a slave or teaching hms to your actual party.

Houndour should be available earlier. I’m baffled that they didn’t just add it to the Safari Zone like Larvitar. Also location evolution spots should be in the game, preferably in Johto.

The worst offender of this is Regigigas needing an event Regigigas to get the other Regis so you can get another Regigigas. It was bad enough to need another game to get it in DP but they somehow made it worse in Platinum.

For Platinum I didn't really get into the contests and I liked Emerald's better. Also, as much as I liked the underground it sure felt lifeless like you can fit another region down there and there was only the rare hiker.

I’ll admit that some of the backtracking in Emerald is a huge slog and the grind for elite four is one of the worst, but this probably is a lot worse if you’re nuzlocking, which was my last play through.
I tried about 13 unsuccessful mono grass nuzlockes in emerald which was soul crushing. I got a mono dark run off the ground but it’s hard as shit still and I got burned out on the game.

The amount of hms in platinum is obnoxious. It's impossible to have a full team or even just 1 hm slave because you need different combos. You always have to boot a team member so bibarel number 2 can move a rock and then climb a wall. I don't hate hms completely but there were way too many in dppt

I was thinking about this yesterday. Personally I like the DS sprites way more than the GBA ones, but sometimes they don't make any sense. Back sprites have weird lightning, some examples are Metang and Dunsparce, with the latter being dark for some reason, but Metang doesn't have any lighting or shadows at all.
