First review is up. 6/10. Bet if something new like story content was in, the game would have gotten an 8. As it stands, it didn’t. It’s an obvious cashgrab and reviewers are now in the know.

Jesus H. Fucking Christ the double standard, it seems like Nintendo didn't pay them this time. It's impressive how they trashed this game for it's repetitiveness and the fact that it stay mostly true to its origin but prized and cheered when SS did it (http://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/nintendo-switch/pokemon_sword_and_shield). The two reviews' conclusions are practically the same except for the a embarrassing score.

Mystery Dungeon games always get a shit score (not only Pokemon, but Shiren and Chocobo too)
Look at scores for metacritic for example, only 1 (Etrian Odyssey) is green

No, not really. In a mainline Pokemon game, specially if you're a normal non-hardcore player, you overall do alot less "going thru the same-area AGAIN" than in any Dungeon Crawler, the overal Pokemon system is also less tedious to go thru since it's 90% battling and catching instead of chunks of you walking looking for the staircase, the main Pokemon games also have divergences like Camp and Trading and battling online in general is usually more well-regarded as something that spices up the value of a game than the Multiplayer features Mystery Dungeon games have.

You have to be detached from reality to not realize why a mainline Pokemon game is more acessible and chore-some for an average player than the entire Mystery Dungeon genre. There is a reason ALL of those games review bleh, not just Pokemon, and it's the mere fact that the game's core gameplay is something that you have to be a particular kind of 'tistic to be able to enjoy properly.

you have way too much faith in >games journalists
they don't bother to research the original when they play a remake. their job is to blast through a game as quickly as possible and take general notes about graphics, storyline, difficulty etc. this is an actual quote from the review:

How did gen 5 devalue trading? Sword and Shield made it worse by having less Pokémon, most of the Pokémon available being available in the wild. Unless you buy the DLC, which is... kind of better than the base game without any updates, but still trash.

I tried the demo and simply could not stand how babyfied they made it and also the “HOO HAA” the player screams whenever they use a move. The animations are abysmal and stiff. Something about the new storybook aesthetic is just jarring ala that kh3 Winnie the Pooh world.

I wasn’t nostalgic for the game anyhow, the explorers titles where my first pmd games. Wake me up when those release instead and hopefully they won’t job

I'm not a fan of the originals because unlike Explorers they don't break up the heavy dungeon section of the game with lighter stuff like the mildly fun minigames. Also yeah, the dungeon crawler genre is repetitive.
But you're post cannot be read any other way than "if it's from game freak it's fine", both the reviewer, me and even fucking you recognized that SS is far more repetitive than even the original Rescue game yet for both of you that's a good thing and it's fine that way because "Pogaymon eheh". And before replying to me reread attentively your older posts while keeping in mind what I just told you, because right now you're acting like the retarded who never think.

Playing it right now and I've just defeated Zapdos
The only thing that I hate so far are the fact that the friend areas got ruined. That's it
The artstyle is great, the new features and QoL are great, I love how recruiting works now and the game is overal more fast

It's absolutely not fair that the Link's awakening remake received universal praise despite being an even lazier remake with a shittier artstyle and same pricetag while Mystery dungeon will only receive shit reviews

Apparently, yeah - don't actually remember much of the original games. But the reason I asked was because the game says you need Friend Bow for shinies, was gonna ask if you could try getting one to see how rare they are. Would be interesting if Squad Up could generate shinies as well, though.
