As someone who got into Pokemon in Gen 4(call me a zoomer, whatever), I loved the movie. That version of the DP theme still gets me hyped.

Darkrai and Cresselia should’ve been saved as box legendaries for another generation. Too many fucking legendaries in Gen 4 anyway.

I like its design but I find it really weird that Darkrai is a mythical and Cresselia is a standard legendary while they’re supposed to be equal counterparts.

One of the quintessential Gen IV emo kid favorites. Featured in plenty of "Every Time we Touch" video tributes and other such Scene tracks from the mid-to-late 2000's before they DMCA'd out of existence. Back when Deviantart was just a little more infamous. Those were the days.

Best memories I had. My uncle was fiddling with r4 cards at the time of sinnoh release and showed me PokeSAV. First thing he showed me was how he got Dakrai and Arceus on his savefile. I was blown away. I want Sinnoh Remake to feel nostalgic. 00 born btw. I will zoom away now. Have fun guys. Darkrai is based/10

Probably the only "edgy" design that I like. It should have been a standard legendary and not a mythical though. Hopefully it gets the ORAS deoxys treatment in the eventual sinnoh remakes.

Darkrai has always been my favorite pokemon but it has a few design choices I have issues with, like I feel as if it's hands should be slightly bigger and it should have much more... "hair" or whatever that is on it's head, so that instead of laying flat it kind of moves out a bit. I do also feel like the skirt of sorts could be longer but these are just personal redesign choices. Probably one of the best looking pokemon ever made, but it still has some issues.

Too weak for Ubers. Too good for OU. As a competitive mon i think Darkrai isn't really memorable after the dark void nerf and the powercreep from gen 6-7 didn't help it's case. Most likely a forgotten mon by now.

I like Darkrai's design and lore but the film felt kinda off. Dex entries are wack too, makes others suffer with nightmares but means no harm?

Really fits the emo holy trinity.

The red thing is based on a gorget. Darkrai means Dark King so there are royal elements in his design.

Fun fact: the legs are permanently part of its model in XY and onwards, even though you’ll never see them in game.

Just in case they want to have it stand like that in spinoffs, they modeled the legs anyway.
