But the most retarded thing is that people seem to only care about that type combination (which isn't even that common), instead of the fact that even without it we still get athletic humanoid fire starters which is the worse aspect to come out of that type combination.

While Emboar isn't as good as the other two, I feel like most of the hate it gets is just backlash from being the third Fire/Fighting. In a vaccum it would probably be pretty well received. or at least nowhere near as poorly

As both Infernape and Emboar are based on Journey to the West characters, I love the two in conjunction. In a vacuum I wouldn’t care much for Emboar.

Emboar is actually based on Zhang Fei from "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". The pig character from "Journey to the West" is a brute peasant kind of guy, far from the dignified fighting type that is Emboar.
